US President Donald Trump has linked his strategic ambitions regarding Greenland to his failure to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, stating that he is now focused solely on what is best for the United States.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that foreign media outlets have released details regarding a message sent by the US leader to the Prime Minister of Norway, Jonas Gahr Støre.

In his communication, US President Donald Trump noted that since he was deprived of the Nobel recognition, he no longer feels obligated to prioritize peace initiatives over national interests. "Given that your country decided not to award me the Nobel Peace Prize for preventing more than eight wars, I am no longer obliged to think only about peace and can now think about what is good and right for the United States," he stated.

US President Donald Trump further asserted that Denmark would be unable to protect Greenland from potential threats posed by Russia or China. He emphasized his role in the North Atlantic alliance, saying: "I have done more for NATO than anyone since its inception, and now NATO must do something for the US. The world will not be safe unless we have full control over Greenland."

The strategic importance of Greenland has long been a point of discussion in international geopolitics due to its vast natural resources and its critical location in the Arctic circle. As melting ice opens new shipping routes and access to minerals, major global powers have increased their focus on the territory. The United States has maintained a military presence in Greenland since World War II, most notably at the Thule Air Base (now Pituffik Space Base), which serves as a vital component of the US early warning system for ballistic missiles.
