Germany, as a leading nation within the European Union, continues to expand its engagement and influence in the South Caucasus region.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing AZERTAC, reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these remarks during a joint press conference with German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The head of state emphasized the strategic importance of the bilateral relationship, stating: "Azerbaijan-Germany relations will contribute not only to our bilateral ties but also to cooperation, peace, and stability throughout our region."

The meeting between the two leaders underscores the growing diplomatic dialogue between Baku and Berlin. Germany has increasingly sought to play a constructive role in regional affairs, particularly in supporting efforts toward long-term stability and economic integration in the South Caucasus. Azerbaijan, as a key energy and logistics partner for Europe, remains central to these diplomatic initiatives.
