On June 22, President Ilham Aliyev held an expanded meeting with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Press Service of the President of Azerbaijan reported that the discussions centered on strengthening bilateral ties.
The meeting in Ashgabat served as a platform to review the current state of strategic partnership between the two nations. Both leaders emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation, particularly within the energy sector, which remains a cornerstone of the bilateral agenda. Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have historically maintained close diplomatic relations, often collaborating on regional infrastructure projects and energy transit initiatives that connect the Caspian region to international markets.
