Azerbaijan has exported 12,000 tons of oil products to Armenia, marking a significant step in regional trade. Operative Information Center-OMM reports that President Ilham Aliyev announced the figures during his address at the 8th European Political Community Summit, held via video link.
"We started supplying our oil products, gasoline, and diesel fuel to Armenia, thereby laying the foundation for trade relations. To date, we have exported 12,000 tons of oil products," President Ilham Aliyev stated. The head of state further noted that Azerbaijan has also facilitated the transit of 28,000 tons of cargo to Armenia through its territory, demonstrating the commitment of Baku to regional connectivity.
This development follows ongoing efforts to normalize relations and unblock regional transport communications in the South Caucasus. The provision of energy resources and transit facilitation is seen as a practical step toward building economic ties between Baku and Yerevan. Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for the integration of regional infrastructure to foster stability and economic growth across the Garabagh region and the wider neighborhood.
