President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree approving the regulations for the Akhar-Bakhar National Park and the Ilisu National Park in Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that under the decree, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources have been tasked with resolving all necessary issues arising from the implementation of these regulations.
The establishment and regulation of national parks in Azerbaijan are part of the state's comprehensive strategy to protect the country's unique biodiversity and promote ecotourism. The Ilisu National Park, located in the Gakh region, was established to preserve the natural complexes of the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus. These new regulations aim to strengthen the legal framework for environmental conservation, scientific research, and the sustainable management of Azerbaijan's protected natural territories.
