President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree amending the Charter of the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve, which was originally approved by his decree dated August 7, 2017.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the new decree introduces specific adjustments to the administrative and operational framework of the reserve.
Under the updated regulations, the Management Board of the reserve is now authorized to establish incentive systems for employees, including additional remuneration structures. This change aims to enhance the administrative efficiency and operational capacity of the body responsible for managing the historic site.
Icherisheher, often referred to as the Old City, is the ancient historical core of Baku and is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It serves as a significant cultural and architectural landmark in Azerbaijan, housing numerous monuments, including the Maiden Tower and the Palace of the Shirvanshahs. The management of this area is strictly regulated by the state to preserve its unique medieval urban structure and architectural heritage.
