Azerbaijan has established new stages for the electronic document submission process for admission to the first grade of general education schools, lyceums, and gymnasiums, as well as for personal income tax declarations, as part of the country's digital transformation of public services.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the integration of the first-grade admission service with the Electronic Government Information System (EGIS) is scheduled to be completed by May 1, 2026. According to the project timeline, the current workflow for the service will be presented by May 20, with a newly developed and improved workflow expected to be finalized by June 13. The service is slated for launch on the "mygov" platform by June 10.

The Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport are the primary entities responsible for the implementation of this project. Furthermore, steps are being taken to digitalize personal income tax declaration services, with integration into the EGIS expected by October 1, 2026. This portion of the digital initiative will be managed by the Ministry of Economy, according to Report.

The digitalization of educational and fiscal services in Azerbaijan is part of a broader national strategy to enhance transparency and accessibility in public administration. By centralizing these services through the "mygov" portal, the government aims to reduce bureaucratic hurdles for citizens and streamline data management between various state agencies. These reforms align with Azerbaijan's long-term goals of building a sustainable digital economy and improving the efficiency of the Cabinet of Ministers' social and economic policies.
