Horse DNA has been detected in meat products offered to consumers at the "Alp Delux" celebration hall located in the Nizami district of Baku. The discovery was made during a series of inspections aimed at ensuring public health standards in the capital.

The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan that several critical hygiene and technical violations were identified during the site visit. Inspectors found that the ventilation system in the cold appetizer and hot meal preparation areas was non-existent. Furthermore, surfaces in contact with food were not lined with washable or disinfectant-resistant materials, water lines in the storage area ceiling lacked insulation, and refrigeration shelving showed signs of significant corrosion.

Due to these suspicious circumstances, meat samples were collected for laboratory analysis, which subsequently confirmed the presence of horse DNA. Following the results, an administrative protocol was filed against the facility's management. The contaminated meat has been withdrawn from circulation to prevent consumption, and mandatory instructions have been issued to the establishment to rectify all identified shortcomings. The Food Safety Agency continues to monitor food service providers across Azerbaijan to ensure compliance with national safety regulations and protect consumer rights.
