Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department at the Presidential Administration, has described the development of international cooperation between cities in Azerbaijan’s Garabagh region and cities in other countries as important.
Operative Information Center-OMM reported that Hajiyev made the remarks in an address to the diplomatic corps in Khankendi.
He said international cooperation and partnerships between Garabagh’s cities and foreign cities were highly significant. “I am grateful to all our partners and friendly countries whose cities and settlements have established sister-city relations with the cities of Garabagh,” Hajiyev said.
Hajiyev stressed the importance of developing direct ties between cities and exchanging experience and knowledge.
He also said that a visit to Romania had recently been organized, during which initial contacts were established to develop cooperation with Romanian cities.
International city partnerships can support the exchange of expertise in areas such as urban planning, municipal services, investment and cultural cooperation. The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the economic and social development of Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
