Establishing relations with neighboring Armenia after years of conflict confirms Azerbaijan's commitment to achieving peace and stability in the region, according to a senior official.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, made these remarks during his speech at the 1st General Assembly of the Global South NGO Platform (GSNP).
Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for the normalization of ties based on the mutual recognition of sovereignty and territorial integrity. Following the restoration of its full sovereignty, Baku has intensified efforts to finalize a peace treaty that would ensure long-term security in the South Caucasus. The Global South NGO Platform, where these statements were made, serves as an important international forum for fostering dialogue and cooperation among non-governmental organizations from developing nations to address shared regional and global challenges.
