Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, has met with Ambassador Eduards Stiprais, the European Union (EU) Special Representative for Central Asia, to discuss key regional initiatives.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Hikmet Hajiyev shared details regarding the discussions on his official X social media account. During the meeting, both parties evaluated new perspectives for regional cooperation and the development of strategic transport corridors linking Europe and Asia.

"We had productive discussions with Ambassador Eduards Stiprais, the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, on regional cooperation, particularly connectivity, as well as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and TRIPP projects. Given Azerbaijan's full involvement in the Central Asian Consultative Council format, there are significant opportunities for cooperation within this framework," the post stated.

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, is a vital logistics artery connecting China and the European Union through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. As a key transit hub, Azerbaijan continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing Eurasian connectivity and energy security, leveraging its strategic geographic position to facilitate trade between East and West.
