Construction work on almost all major sections of the Georgian highway extending from the Turkish border to the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be completed by the end of 2030.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this statement was made by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. The Prime Minister emphasized that the government is striving to maximize the use of the country's strategic position by developing its transport infrastructure.

"We are trying to make maximum use of our country's strategic position. One of our goals is to develop transport infrastructure and transit opportunities," Kobakhidze noted.

The head of government highlighted that significant investments are being directed into this sector to ensure regional connectivity. "According to our plan, by the end of 2030, almost all main parts of the road from the Turkish border to the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia will be finished," he added.

This infrastructure project is a critical component of the Middle Corridor, a multilateral multimodal transport network linking China and the European Union through Central Asia and the South Caucasus. By enhancing the road network connecting Azerbaijan and Georgia, the project aims to facilitate faster cargo transit and strengthen economic ties between Baku and Tbilisi. The development of these transit corridors is expected to solidify Azerbaijan's role as a primary logistics hub in the region, supporting the growing volume of international trade passing through the South Caucasus.
