The Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) Disciplinary Committee has imposed significant financial penalties on Garabagh and Sabah football clubs following incidents involving supporters. Both clubs were fined 5,000 AZN each for pitch invasions during their recent Misli Premier League encounter.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the decision was finalized during a meeting of the AFFA Disciplinary Committee. The sanctions stemmed from the Round 28 match between Garabagh and Sabah, where unauthorized individuals entered the field from the fan sectors. As this marked the second such occurrence for both clubs this season, the committee applied the 5,000 AZN penalty. Additionally, Sabah faced further fines: 700 AZN for six yellow cards received by players, and 1,000 AZN due to Abdulla Khaybullayev’s direct red card for a serious foul, which also resulted in a two-match suspension.
Other league matches also saw disciplinary actions. Araz-Nakhchivan was fined 5,000 AZN for a repeat pitch invasion during their game against Turan Tovuz, while the latter was fined 700 AZN for five yellow cards. In other divisions, Karvan-Yevlax received a 1,000 AZN fine for failing to properly organize the press conference room, violating technical obligations. Furthermore, the Ganja-based club Kapaz was fined 700 AZN after four of its players received yellow cards during their match against Imishli.
