German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has called on Iran to return to the negotiating table without further delay, emphasizing the need for immediate diplomatic engagement.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the Chancellor made these remarks regarding the current diplomatic impasse. Merz stated that Tehran must abandon its strategy of "playing for time" and engage constructively in the process to resolve outstanding issues.

According to the statement, Germany is prepared to work toward lifting the current blockade and restrictions, provided that specific conditions are met by the Iranian side. Merz further highlighted that Berlin is maintaining close coordination with its partners in the United States, specifically the administration of US President Donald Trump, to ensure a unified and strategic approach to the situation.

The diplomatic push comes at a critical juncture for international relations, as Germany continues to play a leading role in European foreign policy. As a key participant in the diplomatic framework regarding Iran's nuclear program, Berlin seeks to balance regional security interests with the necessity of preventing nuclear proliferation. The alignment with US President Donald Trump's administration signals a renewed focus on collective Western pressure to bring Tehran back to compliance with international standards and ensure stability in the region.
