Erdoğan meets with Stubb at 36th NATO Summit in Ankara

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continues his series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government currently being held in Ankara.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Turkish head of state held a private, closed-door meeting with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

The meeting was attended by high-ranking Turkish officials, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, and Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun.

It is reported that President Erdoğan is scheduled to hold further bilateral discussions during the summit with US President Donald Trump, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, and other world leaders.

The summit agenda focuses on critical issues, including NATO's future development strategy, strengthening European defense capabilities, the US military presence on the continent, continued support for Ukraine, and increasing defense spending and military industrial capacity among allied nations. The NATO summit serves as a pivotal platform for coordinating security policies and addressing the evolving geopolitical challenges facing the transatlantic alliance.
