Azerbaijan is investing billions of dollars into the reconstruction of former conflict zones to ensure long-term regional stability. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov made these remarks during an event titled "Cities at the Heart of Connectivity: Urban Reconstruction and Regional Cooperation," held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

The Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan's large-scale reconstruction efforts should be viewed as an integral part of its broader peace-building strategy. "This is a strategy to build a better, more prosperous future for everyone. Following Azerbaijan's resolute position and actions, the South Caucasus is moving from decades of instability toward genuine opportunities for peace and cooperation. The end of the long-standing conflict and the full restoration of Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity have transformed regional dynamics, removing one of the primary threats to peace and security while creating new perspectives for regional cooperation," Jeyhun Bayramov stated.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations, serves as the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. Azerbaijan's active participation in WUF13 highlights the country's commitment to the "Great Return" program, which focuses on the sustainable redevelopment of liberated territories, including Garabagh and East Zangazur. These initiatives aim to integrate modern "smart city" technologies and green energy zones into the regional infrastructure, fostering an environment conducive to permanent diplomatic normalization between Baku and Yerevan.
