Several drones have attacked fuel storage tanks at the commercial port of Duqm in eastern Oman.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing foreign media outlets, that at least one of the storage tanks was directly hit during the strike.

According to official reports, the damage resulting from the attack has been localized, and no casualties have been reported. The port of Duqm serves as a critical logistics and supply hub for the United States Navy, particularly for the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which is currently operating in the Arabian Sea.

The incident occurs against a backdrop of significant military escalation in the region. On February 28, Israel and the United States launched a series of strikes against targets in Iran. In response, Tehran has vowed to retaliate by targeting US and Israeli military bases and energy infrastructure across the Middle East.

The port of Duqm is strategically located on the southeastern seaboard of the Arabian Peninsula, overlooking the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean. Its importance has grown significantly in recent years as a key maritime gateway that bypasses the volatile Strait of Hormuz. As a major industrial and transshipment hub, any disruption to its operations poses a threat to international energy security and regional maritime stability.
