Dövlət Baxçalı: Türkiyə xarici qüvvələrin təzyiqləri ilə idarə oluna bilməz

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahceli delivered sharp remarks regarding the European Union’s (EU) approach to Turkiye during his party’s parliamentary group meeting. According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Bahceli stated that despite the EU’s declarations regarding strategic autonomy, the bloc has yet to fully break free from Washington’s sphere of influence.

The MHP leader argued that Europe is attempting to mask its internal problems and double standards by focusing on human rights issues, a narrative he deemed unacceptable for Turkiye. "The tailor who will cut a suit for the Turkish nation has not yet been born," Bahceli declared. "The European Union must know its limits."

Bahceli also addressed the long-standing integration process between Turkiye and the EU, which began in 1959, claiming that the bloc has intentionally stalled progress. He highlighted that the visa liberalization process has been delayed for years, the modernization of the Customs Union remains stagnant, and negotiation chapters have been blocked for political reasons. Furthermore, the MHP leader asserted that the EU has failed to fulfill its promises to Turkiye, sacrificing the process to the political interests of certain member states. He also emphasized the importance of implementing agreements regarding regional issues, including the situations in Lebanon and the Strait of Hormuz.
