Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has been re-elected as the leader of the ruling Civic Coalition party, securing a decisive mandate from the party membership.
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, citing international media reports, Tusk received 97% of the total votes cast. Out of the participants, 16,695 members voted in favor of his leadership, while 379 members voted against. The election saw a high turnout, with 78% of eligible Civic Coalition members participating in the internal leadership ballot.
Donald Tusk, who returned to the helm of Polish politics following the 2023 general elections, has been a pivotal figure in European diplomacy, previously serving as the President of the European Council. The Civic Coalition (Koalicja Obywatelska) serves as the primary force within Poland's current governing alliance, focusing on judicial reforms and strengthening ties with the European Union. This overwhelming internal support solidifies Tusk's position as he continues to lead the country's executive branch and navigate complex regional geopolitical challenges.
