Admission has been announced for vacant places at secondary specialized education institutions based on general (nine-year) secondary education.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the State Examination Center (SEC) issued a statement on the matter.
According to the statement, applicants may select specialties for vacant places at secondary specialized education institutions from Sept. 8 until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 10.
Applicants may participate in the admission competition if they scored at least 50 points overall in the admission examination, including at least 20 points in Azerbaijani or Russian and at least 10 points in mathematics.
Applicants seeking specialties requiring special aptitude may participate if they scored at least 50 points overall, with no subject-specific score requirement, and received a “pass” in the aptitude examinations conducted by the relevant commission.
Specialty selection for vacant places at secondary specialized education institutions based on general secondary education will be conducted online from Sept. 8, 2026, until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 10.
Eligible applicants may select up to 12 specialty codes offered on a state-funded or fee-paying basis and must complete and confirm the “Applicant’s electronic specialty selection application” at the online address.
Applicants determine the order of their selected specialty codes. That order will be taken into account as the legal basis during the competition, and applicants will be placed in the first specialty for which they qualify.
Only applicants who receive a “pass” in aptitude examinations conducted by the relevant commission may select specialties requiring special aptitude. Applicants may also select other specialties alongside those requiring special aptitude.
The list of vacant places has been published in a special issue of the “Abituriyent” journal. The journal can be purchased from the SEC’s main administrative building at 299 Academician Hasan Aliyev Street in Baku’s Nasimi district, from the “Abituriyent” sales point at 2A Davud Aslan Street in Baku’s Nizami district, and from bookstores.
