Russian footballer Denis Makarov will continue his professional career with the Samara-based club Krylya Sovetov. The transfer marks his return to the Russian football championship.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the club's press service officially confirmed the signing, announcing that a one-season contract has been finalized with the 28-year-old midfielder. The club expressed satisfaction in securing his services for the upcoming campaign.
Makarov joins the team following a tenure with the Turkish club Kayserispor. During the previous season, he made 13 appearances but did not record any goals or assists. Prior to his time in Turkey, the midfielder was a key figure for Dynamo Moscow. Krylya Sovetov, which finished 11th in the Russian Premier League last season, is looking to strengthen its squad to achieve more competitive results in the new season.
The Russian Premier League remains a significant platform for regional talent, with clubs like Krylya Sovetov frequently utilizing the transfer market to bolster their rosters and improve their standing in the league table. Makarov's experience in both the Russian and Turkish leagues is expected to provide tactical depth for the Samara side as they aim to climb the standings.
