The death toll from the unrest that erupted following Paris Saint-Germain's (PSG) victory in the Champions League has risen to three people.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing reports from the French newspaper Le Parisien, the situation in the French capital escalated significantly following the match.

In addition to a motorcyclist involved in a previously reported accident, two other individuals fell into the Seine River during the disturbances. Eyewitnesses reported that one of the deceased had intentionally jumped into the river. According to the newspaper, the victim was a Rwandan national born in 1997. Police departments in the 5th and 6th arrondissements of Paris have launched an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Earlier, French Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced that more than 890 people had been detained during the riots, with over 200 individuals reported injured. The unrest followed PSG's victory over Arsenal in the Champions League final held in Budapest. After the match ended in a 1-1 draw following regular time and extra time, PSG secured the title with a 4-3 win in the penalty shootout.

The Champions League, organized by UEFA, is one of the most prestigious football tournaments in the world. Victories in such high-profile events often trigger massive public celebrations, which, as seen in this instance, can occasionally lead to public order challenges and significant security operations by local authorities.
