Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Kevin Hamilton, NATO's Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Partnerships and Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The meeting focused on the long-term cooperation between Azerbaijan and NATO, as well as regional security dynamics.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the minister shared details of the meeting on his official X account. The sides highlighted the significance of the "Partnership for Peace" program and explored prospects for enhancing cooperation in energy security and the protection of critical infrastructure. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also briefed the NATO official on the post-conflict normalization process with Armenia, the ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories, and Azerbaijan's commitment to sustainable peace.
The Antalya Diplomacy Forum is a high-level gathering of political leaders, diplomats, and academics aimed at addressing global and regional challenges through dialogue. Azerbaijan has maintained a multifaceted relationship with NATO since joining the Partnership for Peace program in 1994, contributing significantly to international peacekeeping missions and regional energy security. During the meeting, the parties also exchanged views on global security challenges, emphasizing the need to reduce tensions in the Middle East and the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians.
