Canada will supply American-made AIM missiles to Ukraine to strengthen the country's air defense capabilities against ongoing aerial threats.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the delivery on the social media platform X. While the minister did not disclose the specific number of missiles being provided, he confirmed that the delivery process has already commenced.
Furthermore, according to Fedorov, during a telephone conversation with his Canadian counterpart, the parties discussed the joint production of drones, military training programs, and the exchange of combat experience between the armed forces of the two nations. This cooperation aims to enhance the tactical efficiency of Ukrainian forces on the battlefield.
Canada has been one of the most consistent supporters of Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict, providing billions of dollars in military, financial, and humanitarian aid. The provision of AIM (Air Intercept Missile) technology is part of a broader international effort to bolster Ukraine's integrated air defense systems, which are critical for protecting civilian infrastructure and military assets from missile and drone strikes.
