The Kurdamir railway station has been officially commissioned for passenger use starting today. The station will serve as a key stop for several major rail routes, including Baku–Gazakh–Baku, Baku–Balakan–Baku, and Baku–Aghdam–Baku, as well as the Baku–Agstafa–Baku services operated on weekends and public holidays.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Azerbaijan Railways (ADY) CJSC, the reconstructed station features modern amenities, including a general waiting hall and a VIP lounge. For the convenience of travelers, a dedicated parking area for private vehicles has been established in front of the station. Tickets have been available since April 17 through the official ADY website, the "ADY Mobile" application, and railway ticket offices.
The minimum ticket price for the Baku–Kurdamir route is set at 11.10 AZN. The journey covers a distance of 203 kilometers in 2 hours and 11 minutes, marking a significant improvement from the pre-pandemic travel time of 3 hours and 11 minutes. This reduction in travel time is a result of extensive infrastructure upgrades and the introduction of modern rolling stock on Azerbaijan's railway network.
"The commissioning of the station will expand mobility for residents of Kurdamir and neighboring districts—Agsu, Goychay, Zardab, Sabirabad, and Imishli. It will provide a comfortable, safe, and affordable travel opportunity to the capital, the western and north-western regions, as well as Garabagh using modern trains," ADY stated. The project is part of Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to modernize its transport corridors and improve regional connectivity for both citizens and visitors.
