Law enforcement officers in Azerbaijan's Barda district have detained two individuals suspected of stealing 40,000 manat from payment terminals located in two local stores.
The regional group of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) press service told the Operative Information Center-OMM that the suspects, identified as Elshad Alizade and Aykhan Guliyev, were apprehended following operational measures. Security camera footage captured the moment one of the terminals was being burglarized. A criminal case has been initiated, and a court order has placed the individuals under pretrial detention while investigations continue.
Barda, located in the Garabagh region of Azerbaijan, serves as a significant regional hub with increasing commercial activity. The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to strengthen security measures across the country to prevent property crimes and ensure public safety. Under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, large-scale theft from financial infrastructure is treated as a serious offense subject to rigorous legal action.
