Prime Minister Ali Asadov has signed a decree to immortalize the memory of Lieutenant-General Karim Abbasali oglu Kerimov, a distinguished scientist and military figure who made significant contributions to the development of cosmonautics. Under the new directive, a memorial plaque will be installed on the building where he resided.

As reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, the implementation of this order has been assigned to the Ministry of Culture and the Baku City Executive Power.

Karim Kerimov (1917–2003) is widely recognized as a central figure in the Soviet space program. Often referred to as the "secret general" of the space industry, he chaired the State Commission for Flight Tests of Manned Spacecraft for many years, playing a pivotal role in the success of the Vostok, Soyuz, and Mir space station missions. This initiative reflects Azerbaijan's ongoing commitment to honoring the legacies of its prominent historical figures who have achieved international acclaim in science and technology.
