As part of the "Hash-hash-2026" complex operational measures, wild-growing narcotic plants were discovered in the territory of Hanifa village in the Balakan district.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported that officers from the Balakan District Police Department conducted a targeted operation to eradicate the illegal crops.
During the operation, law enforcement officials destroyed 10,815 cannabis plants with a total weight of 9 tons and 800 kilograms. The plants were uprooted and incinerated in accordance with established legal procedures.
The "Hash-hash" operation is an annual, nationwide initiative conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan to combat the cultivation and distribution of illegal narcotics. These operations are critical to the country's broader strategy of ensuring public safety and curbing drug-related criminal activities across all regions of Azerbaijan.
