A suspect has been arrested for committing an armed robbery against a taxi driver in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), that the incident took place in the Binagadi district of the city.
According to the victim's statement to the police, an unidentified passenger in his Kia vehicle threatened him with a sharp object and forcibly seized his money. Following the report, law enforcement officers conducted an investigation, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, identified as 36-year-old T. Binyatov, who has a prior criminal record.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the robbery.
