Repair works at the intersection of two major avenues in Baku's Narimanov district have led to significant traffic congestion across several key arteries in the capital, Azerbaijan.
The Operative Information Center-OMM was informed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs Intellectual Transport Management Center that maintenance is currently underway at the junction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Azadlig Avenue (on the overpass). As a result, heavy traffic has been reported in the following directions:
- Koroglu metro station
- Ali Mustafayev and Abdulvahab Salamzade streets
- 20 January circle
- Moscow and Tbilisi avenues
- Baku-Sumgait highway (towards 20 January metro station)
Currently, police officers are taking operational measures across various directions to alleviate the congestion and ensure the smooth flow of vehicles. The Intellectual Transport Management Center advises drivers to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays.
Baku's transport infrastructure has undergone extensive modernization in recent years to accommodate the growing number of vehicles in the capital. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue serves as one of the city's primary bypass roads, connecting the eastern and western sectors of the capital. Periodic maintenance is essential to maintain the safety and efficiency of these high-traffic corridors, which are vital for both daily commuting and commercial logistics within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
