Significant traffic congestion has been reported on several major roads and avenues in Baku, affecting the morning commute across the capital.
The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that according to the Intelligent Transport Management Center (ITMC), heavy vehicle density is currently observed at the following locations:
- Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
- 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center;
- 1st Lake Shore road, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Baku-Sumgait highway, towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
- Yusif Safarov Street, towards the city center;
- Uzeyir Hajibeyli Street, up to the intersection with Azadlig Avenue;
- 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
- Tbilisi Avenue, from the "20 January" metro station towards the city center;
- Ali Mustafayev Street, towards Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
- Babek Avenue, towards the city center.
The Intelligent Transport Management Center in Azerbaijan is responsible for the real-time monitoring and regulation of traffic flow in Baku. Such congestion is typical during peak hours in the capital, as the city's infrastructure connects major residential areas with the central business district. Authorities recommend that drivers use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays and ensure the smooth operation of public transport services.
