Traffic congestion reported on major Baku roads

Traffic congestion is currently being observed on several major roads and avenues in Baku, impacting the flow of vehicles during peak hours.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) has released an official update regarding the current traffic situation in the capital. The report identifies multiple locations where movement has become significantly restricted.

The following areas are currently experiencing traffic delays:

  • 1. Baku-Sumgait highway, in the direction of the "20 January" metro station;
  • 2. Rashid Behbudov Street, towards the Central Bank;
  • 3. Mikayil Mushfig Street, from the "Badamdar" circle towards school-lyceum No. 20;
  • 4. 1st Gol Kenari road, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 5. Heydar Aliyev Avenue, auxiliary road, towards the city center;
  • 6. Niyazi Street, in the direction of the "Azneft" circle;
  • 7. 28 May Street, from the intersection with Pushkin Street to the intersection with Rashid Behbudov Street;
  • 8. 8 November Avenue, from the intersection with Suleyman Ahmadov Street towards the center;
  • 9. Ziya Bunyadov Avenue, from the intersection with Muzaffar Narimanov Street towards the "20 January" metro station;
  • 10. Gara Garayev Avenue, from the "Gara Garayev" metro station towards the "Koroghlu" metro station;
  • 11. Mikayil Aliyev Street, from the Oil Refinery towards the "Koroghlu" metro station;
  • 12. Abdulvahab Salamzade Street, in the direction of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue;
  • 13. Heydar Aliyev Avenue, main road, towards the city center;
  • 14. Sabunchu-Zabrat highway, in the direction of the "Koroghlu" metro station.

The Intelligent Transport Management Center (NIIM) of Azerbaijan continuously monitors the traffic flow in Baku to ensure urban mobility and safety. Such congestion is typical for the capital's infrastructure during morning and evening rushes, and authorities recommend drivers to use alternative routes where possible to avoid prolonged delays.
