Azərbaycan 23 vətəndaşını Suriyadan ölkəyə repatriasiya edib

As a result of phased and coordinated measures taken by the government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, 23 citizens of Azerbaijan (seven women and 16 children) were repatriated from the Syrian Arab Republic on June 7, 9, and 11, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reported.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the repatriation process began with the identification of the individuals' locations, identities, and citizenship status. The embassies of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Republic of Türkiye, along with the Consulate General in Istanbul, coordinated the efforts to provide the citizens with "return certificates to the Republic of Azerbaijan" and airline tickets.

Members of a specialized Working Group, comprised of representatives from state agencies responsible for the repatriation of Azerbaijani citizens facing crisis situations abroad, were deployed to Syria to conduct initial medical and psychological screenings of the returnees.

The government has initiated comprehensive measures to ensure the social rehabilitation and reintegration of these citizens into society. Authorities have stated that they will continue to take necessary steps to repatriate Azerbaijani citizens who have become victims of armed conflicts in foreign territories.

This operation is part of a broader, ongoing state policy aimed at protecting the rights and safety of Azerbaijani citizens abroad. Since the conclusion of the conflict in Syria, Azerbaijan has consistently worked to bring back its nationals, particularly women and children, who were caught in the crossfire of regional instability, emphasizing the state's commitment to the welfare of its citizens regardless of their location.
