The Rector of the National Defense University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, has held discussions with a delegation led by Lieutenant General Burhan Aktash, Deputy Rector of the National Defense University of Turkey, regarding the expansion of cooperation in the field of military education between the two countries.

Major General Abdulov emphasized that the relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are built on mutual trust, confidence, and friendship. He provided the delegation with detailed information regarding the ongoing reforms within Azerbaijan's military education system, highlighting the positive outcomes achieved and the innovations implemented by incorporating international best practices.
Lieutenant General Aktash expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality, noting his pleasure in visiting Azerbaijan. He extended his congratulations on the occasion of June 26 – Armed Forces Day. The Deputy Rector of the Turkish National Defense University remarked that the successful development path of the Azerbaijan Army serves as a true model for other nations, expressing confidence that cooperation will continue under the motto of "one nation, two states."
The meeting addressed the current state and future prospects of joint efforts in military education. The participants emphasized the importance of mutual visits for the exchange of experience, the enhancement of military personnel's skills, and the training of professional cadres. A broad exchange of views on various topics of mutual interest also took place.
Following the meeting, Lieutenant General Aktash signed the memorial book, and the parties exchanged gifts, concluding the visit with a commemorative photograph.
Context: Military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey has intensified significantly in recent years, particularly following the 44-day Patriotic War. The two nations frequently conduct joint military exercises and maintain close ties in defense industry and military education, reflecting the strategic alliance formalized by the Shusha Declaration.
