The Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic have formally approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding cooperation in the field of statistics between their respective state statistical committees.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to ratify the agreement.
The document formalizes the MoU, which was originally signed on July 31, 2026, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic. Under the decree, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is tasked with notifying the government of the Kyrgyz Republic that the necessary internal procedures for the entry into force of the Memorandum have been completed.
This agreement is part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. By integrating statistical methodologies and enhancing digital data exchange, both nations aim to improve the accuracy of economic indicators and align their state statistical systems with international standards, facilitating more effective evidence-based policymaking and economic cooperation.
