During the period of January-July of this year, Azerbaijan exported goods valued at 17 million 372 thousand US dollars to Armenia, according to data provided to the Operative Information Center-OMM by the State Customs Committee.

In contrast, Azerbaijan's indirect imports from Armenia over the same seven-month period totaled only 960 US dollars, with no imports recorded from the country last month.

The trade figures reflect the broader context of Azerbaijan's foreign economic activity. During the January-July period, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations totaling 29 billion 216 million US dollars, marking a 1.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Of this total, exports accounted for 19 billion 336 million US dollars, while imports stood at 9 billion 881 million US dollars. Consequently, the country achieved a positive trade balance of 9 billion 455 million dollars, which represents a 5.9-fold increase compared to the previous year.

It is important to note that Azerbaijan's foreign trade policy remains focused on diversifying its export markets and strengthening its positive trade balance. The significant growth in the trade surplus underscores the country's robust export performance, driven primarily by the energy sector and non-oil industry developments, which continue to play a pivotal role in the national economy.
