During the first half of this year, Azerbaijan allocated 275.9 million manats from the state budget to cover interest and discount payments on government bonds, as part of the country's internal debt service obligations. This information was reported by the Operative Information Center-OMM, citing data from the Ministry of Finance.
According to the official report, the government successfully repaid 1,971.9 million manats in principal debt on matured state bonds to investors over the six-month period. Additionally, the state placed 200 million manats worth of new government bonds into the domestic financial market during the same timeframe.
The issuance and management of government bonds are critical components of Azerbaijan's fiscal strategy, aimed at diversifying funding sources and developing the local capital market. By managing internal debt effectively, the Ministry of Finance seeks to ensure macroeconomic stability and provide reliable investment instruments for both institutional and individual investors within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
