The Prosecutor General's Offices of Azerbaijan and Mongolia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral legal relations and enhance institutional cooperation.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev announced the signing during a meeting with students at the National Aviation Academy. Aliyev emphasized that the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan is continuously expanding its international reach. "The Prosecutor General's Office is establishing intensive international cooperation. We can cite the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), the CIS, the European Union, and the International Association of Prosecutors as examples of this," Aliyev stated, adding that the partnership with Mongolia will yield practical results for both judicial systems.

The visit of Mongolian Prosecutor General Jargalsaikhan Banzragch to Azerbaijan underscores the growing diplomatic and legal synergy between Baku and Ulaanbaatar. In recent years, Azerbaijan has actively sought to diversify its international legal partnerships, particularly with Central and East Asian nations, to facilitate the exchange of expertise in combating transnational crime and improving prosecutorial oversight. This agreement aligns with Azerbaijan's broader strategy of integrating its legal framework with international standards while fostering bilateral relations with non-regional partners.
