First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel-General Karim Valiyev, along with other senior leadership from the Ministry of Defense, observed the progress of live-fire tactical exercises conducted by the Naval Forces.
According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Defense released official details regarding the drills.
The Chief of the General Staff was briefed that the exercises involved the Naval Forces, the Air Force, the Coast Guard of the State Border Service, and relevant units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
In accordance with the training plan, various tasks were executed in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, including the neutralization of a simulated enemy and coordinated operations with other branches of the armed forces.
The primary objective of the exercises is to enhance the skills of commanders and staff in organizing combat operations and managing forces, as well as to verify the readiness of naval vessels to execute combat missions both individually and as part of tactical groups.
Such exercises are a cornerstone of Azerbaijan's military strategy, aimed at ensuring the security of its maritime borders and critical energy infrastructure in the Caspian Sea. The Caspian region remains a vital area for the country's national security, and regular joint drills ensure interoperability between different branches of the armed forces.
