The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved new regulations regarding the dimensions of protection zones for heat supply networks and the conduct of economic activities within these areas.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the relevant decree to ensure the safety and efficiency of the country's heating infrastructure.
According to the new requirements, specific dimensions for protection zones have been established to ensure the protection of heat networks, create necessary conditions for their operation, and prevent potential damage. The regulations also aim to guarantee the life, health, and safety of citizens by defining strict rules for any economic activities conducted near these systems. The dimensions of the protection zones are determined based on vertical and horizontal distances from underground and overground networks, as well as open heat supply systems, to nearby buildings, structures, and other engineering networks.
This regulatory update is part of Azerbaijan's broader efforts to modernize its communal infrastructure and enhance urban safety standards. By establishing clear boundaries and operational restrictions, the government aims to reduce the risk of accidents and ensure uninterrupted heat supply to residential and commercial sectors, particularly during the winter season. The Cabinet of Ministers oversees such regulatory frameworks to align national infrastructure management with modern technical and safety benchmarks.
