Azerbaijan and Israel foreign ministers hold expanded meeting

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar have held an expanded meeting to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to the Operative Information Center-OMM, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan reported that the discussions focused on expanding cooperation across several key sectors, including political dialogue, energy, trade, investments, education, culture, defense, and security. Both ministers expressed a mutual interest in exploring new opportunities for strategic partnership and economic integration.

The ministers also exchanged views on pressing issues on the international and regional agendas. During the meeting, the importance of both countries contributing to peace, development, and prosperity within their respective regions and beyond was emphasized. The sides reaffirmed their determination to further strengthen the Azerbaijan-Israel partnership. The official meeting between the foreign ministers was reported to have commenced at 11:59 AM.

Azerbaijan and Israel maintain a robust strategic relationship characterized by high-level political dialogue and significant cooperation in the energy and defense sectors. Israel was one of the first countries to recognize Azerbaijan's independence in 1991, and since then, the two nations have developed a multifaceted partnership. The opening of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tel Aviv in 2023 further underscored the growing diplomatic ties and the commitment to long-term regional stability and economic growth.
