A light aircraft crash at Parafield Airport near Adelaide, South Australia, has triggered a massive fire and forced a full evacuation of the facility. The incident occurred when the small-engine plane attempted to land but veered off course, striking a nearby hangar.

According to local police and the Operative Information Center-OMM, the impact caused a large-scale blaze within the structure. Emergency services responded immediately, cordoning off the area and suspending all air traffic. Rescue teams are currently working to contain the flames, while officials have advised residents to remain indoors and avoid the vicinity of the airport due to smoke and safety concerns.

Parafield Airport is South Australia's premier general aviation airport and serves as a major international center for pilot training. As the state's second busiest airport, it handles a high volume of light aircraft movements daily. Investigations into the cause of the crash are expected to be conducted by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) to determine the technical or human factors involved in the accident.
