Aston Villa is grappling with a significant injury crisis as several key midfielders have been sidelined following recent fixtures.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that Youri Tielemans, one of the team's leading midfielders, is expected to be out of action for more than two months due to an ankle injury.

The Belgian international sustained the injury during last Sunday's Premier League match against Newcastle, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Villa. Following medical examinations, it was determined that Tielemans' recovery process will take 8–10 weeks, meaning he is unlikely to return to the pitch until April.

The injury woes for the Birmingham-based club do not end there. Team captain John McGinn has suffered a knee injury and is projected to be out for 6–8 weeks. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that Boubacar Kamara will miss the remainder of the season, leaving a substantial void in the squad's central options.

Head coach Unai Emery addressed the situation in a statement to the BBC, highlighting the challenges ahead:

“Tielemans will be out for eight to ten weeks, and McGinn for six to eight weeks. Kamara will not be able to help the team until the end of the season. For this reason, we must find alternative options in central midfield for the upcoming matches.”

To mitigate these losses, Aston Villa plans to rely heavily on Douglas Luiz, who recently returned to the club from Juventus. The Brazilian midfielder is expected to be one of Emery's primary choices in the starting lineup for the forthcoming Premier League and European fixtures.

Aston Villa, currently competing at the top level of English football and in European competitions, has faced an intensive schedule this season. Such injury crises often test the squad depth of Premier League clubs, especially those vying for Champions League qualification. The loss of three core midfielders simultaneously represents a significant tactical challenge for Unai Emery as the season enters its decisive final months.
