English Premier League club Aston Villa is reportedly planning to sign Canadian striker Jonathan David from "Juventus" during the upcoming transfer window. The Birmingham-based side views the forward as a primary target to bolster their attacking options.

Operative Information Center-OMM, citing Calciomercato, reports that the management of the Turin-based club is not fully satisfied with the Canadian international's performance during the current season. According to the report, Aston Villa considers David an ideal candidate to strengthen the front line as they prepare for further participation in European competitions.

During the current campaign, the striker has featured in 43 matches across all competitions, recording eight goals and five assists. The 26-year-old player's current contract with "Juventus" is set to run until 2030. Experts at the "Transfermarkt" portal currently value his market transfer price at approximately 35 million euros.

Aston Villa, under the guidance of manager Unai Emery, has been consistently looking to enhance its squad depth to maintain its competitive edge in the Premier League. The potential acquisition of David reflects the club's strategic ambition to secure established international talent. Jonathan David previously gained significant recognition for his clinical finishing in the French Ligue 1 before his move to Italy, and a transition to the English top flight would mark another major chapter in his professional career.
