The Appeals Arbitration Tribunal of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA) has rejected an appeal by Neftchi FC regarding a decision made by the Disciplinary Committee. The appeal concerned sanctions imposed following the club's Misli Premier League Round 23 match against Turan Tovuz.
Operative Information Center-OMM reports, citing the federation's official website, that the tribunal upheld the March 11 decision to fine the Baku-based club 15,000 AZN. The penalty was issued after Neftchi supporters displayed an offensive banner during the match held on March 9, which ended in a 1:0 victory for Turan Tovuz.
Neftchi FC, one of the most prominent and historic football clubs in Azerbaijan, has faced increased scrutiny regarding fan behavior in recent seasons. The Misli Premier League, the top professional football division in Azerbaijan, maintains strict disciplinary regulations to ensure sportsmanship and safety within stadiums. This ruling underscores AFFA's commitment to penalizing conduct that violates the league's ethical standards and spectator guidelines.
