The World Urban Forum serves as a vital global platform for shaping the future of cities, where representatives, experts, and specialists from various countries gather to exchange ideas on urbanization, sustainable development, and modern urban management. According to Operative Information Center-OMM, these remarks were made by Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture and national coordinator of WUF13, during a press conference held in connection with the official opening of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13).

Anar Guliyev noted that numerous sessions, events, and discussions are organized within the framework of the forum, creating a comprehensive expertise and a rich knowledge base. He emphasized that the exchange of knowledge and experience among participants would be beneficial for all stakeholders. According to the committee chairman, WUF13 is of great importance in terms of sharing urban planning practices from different countries, discussing innovative solutions, and creating new opportunities for cooperation. "I believe that all participants will benefit from this exchange of knowledge, and the experience gained here will contribute to the more sustainable and inclusive development of cities," Guliyev added.

The World Urban Forum, established by the United Nations in 2001, is the premier global conference on sustainable urbanization. It examines the most pressing issues facing the world today, including rapid urbanization and its impact on communities, cities, economies, and climate change. Azerbaijan has been actively involved in international urban planning initiatives, reflecting the country's commitment to modernizing its urban infrastructure and implementing sustainable development goals in line with global standards.
