Ali Asadov meets with TRNC Prime Minister in Baku

Prime Minister Ali Asadov met with the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Unal Ustel, on April 1. During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and development prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus across various sectors.

According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers informed Operative Information Center-OMM, the officials positively assessed the intensity of high-level mutual visits and the development of cooperation through inter-parliamentary and political party channels. The importance of expanding ties in the humanitarian field, particularly in culture and tourism, was also highlighted during the discussions.

The meeting emphasized the significance of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), noting the TRNC's contributions to the organization's activities in its capacity as an observer member. Both parties touched upon the importance of the Meeting of Heads of Government and Vice Presidents of OTS Member States held in Baku, underlining its role in strengthening intergovernmental coordination and advancing the common agenda defined by the heads of state.

The Organization of Turkic States, formerly known as the Turkic Council, serves as an intergovernmental organization comprising Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan, with the TRNC holding observer status. Azerbaijan has consistently advocated for the integration of the Turkic world and the strengthening of economic, cultural, and political ties among member and observer states to ensure regional stability and shared prosperity.
