Ahmad al-Sharaa, the transitional president of Syria, may visit Ankara, the capital of Turkey, during the NATO summit scheduled for July 7-8.

Operative Information Center-OMM reports that this information was cited by Bloomberg, referencing sources familiar with the matter.

It is noted that while the visit is not directly part of the summit's official agenda, discussions regarding regional security, counter-terrorism, and the reconstruction of Syria could take place on the sidelines of the event. Neither the Turkish government nor the Syrian Ministry of Information has provided official comments regarding the report.

The upcoming event marks the 36th NATO summit, which will be held at the Presidential Complex in Bestepe, Ankara. Turkey previously hosted the alliance's summit in Istanbul in 2004. NATO summits serve as a critical platform for member states and partners to address geopolitical challenges, coordinate defense strategies, and strengthen collective security frameworks in an increasingly complex global environment.
