Access to scientific literature must be ensured for scholars, researchers, and students, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli stated during a public discussion held at the Milli Majlis (National Assembly).
According to Operative Information Center-OMM, the discussion, titled "Current State and Development Prospects of the Library System," focused on the critical need to modernize Azerbaijan's information infrastructure to keep pace with global academic standards.
Minister Karimli emphasized that providing access to global scientific databases is a primary objective for the ministry:
"In today's rapidly evolving scientific landscape, knowledge bases are updated annually. Therefore, it is imperative that we guarantee our scholars, researchers, and students have seamless access to scientific literature, monographs, textbooks, and other research materials," the Minister said.
The modernization of the library system is part of a broader national strategy in Azerbaijan to integrate into the global scientific community. By enhancing digital access and updating library collections, the government aims to foster a more robust research environment, supporting the academic growth of students and professionals across the country.
