US military forces have neutralized another vessel suspected of transporting narcotics in the Caribbean Sea.

The Operative Information Center-OMM reports that the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) released information regarding the engagement.

According to a statement from the command, the "Southern Spear" Special Task Force struck a vessel operated by a terrorist organization. Intelligence data indicated that the vessel was navigating a known route used for drug trafficking in the Caribbean region. Three individuals were killed during the operation, while no casualties were reported among US military personnel.

Since September 2025, US forces have targeted more than 40 vessels suspected of drug smuggling in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific waters. These operations, conducted under the administration of US President Donald Trump, have resulted in a total of 140 fatalities among suspected traffickers as part of an intensified maritime security campaign.

The Caribbean Sea remains a critical transit zone for illicit narcotics heading toward North American markets. US Southern Command, headquartered in Florida, is responsible for providing contingency planning, operations, and security cooperation in Central and South America and the Caribbean. These proactive maritime interdictions are part of a broader strategy to disrupt the financial networks of transnational criminal organizations and enhance regional stability.
